Terrain and map

The Open Air Museum is part of a pine and spruce forest with good and very good runnability. Some parts of the terrain have thicker undergrowth. There are several old cottages with fences. There is a slope up to 15m at the sea, otherwise the terrain is fairly flat. There is a very dense network of roads and footpaths.

Hazards on the terrain: wells, information boards (made of glass) located next to the entrances of the farm yards, in the last farm yard there is a small entrance in the fence.
There are many controls on the terrain, check the identification number!
Be aware of the specific ISOM forbidden and allowed symbols for the sprint map

Size of the map is A4, scale 1:4000, contour interval 2m. Last update of map in 2014

Special symbols:

O - Conical tent (black cyrcle, symbol 539)

X - Various prominent man-made features: swing, large pincic table, large information board, smoke owen, playground ladder etc. (black cross, symbol 540)

Event information

  • Individual start, sprint

  • World Ranking points are given in classes MW21A.

  • Estonian Orienteering Federation ranking points and Estonian Sprint Cup points are given in all classes.
  • 20 first from the Estonian ranking and 500 first from World Ranking will be drawn to the end of the start list in classes MW21A
  • Pre-start is 4 minutes, the start interval is 1 minute.
  • Time limit is 1  hour

  • Distance from the Competition Centre to start is 400m

  • Bib numbers are in start area. O-pass owners get their competition material from the information desk. Competitors will be required to wear the same bib number every day.

  • SI-cards will be registered in the pre-start in check-in (see the starting procedure below)
  • There are separate control descriptions for all classes at the pre-start

Awards

The best in all classes will be awarded according to the number of participants.

Price giving ceremony will start approximately at 20.00.

Driving instructions and parking

The distance from Freedom square (Vabaduse väljak) to the Competition Centre is 6,6 km.

We advise to come from Tallinn City center by trolleybus nr 6 (stop Haabesti), buses drive after every 10 minutes. Check schedules at: http://soiduplaan.tallinn.ee/. The walking distance from Haabersti bus stop is 1.4 km. Total travel time about 35 min.

Travelling by car: drive to the Haabersti roundabound (Paldiski St., Ehitajate road and Rannamõisa road intersection), turn to Rannamõisa road and then to Kaeravälja road. Car parking is possible between Rimi shopping centre and the ice arena. Sign posts to the competition centre will start from Paldiski St before Haabersti roundabound. Distance from car park to Competition Centre is 1100-1300m.
Parking on the Vabaõhumuuseumi road and in  the Open Air Museum gate parking is not possible
